Flexible ERP Softwaresss

MRP and ERP and MRP II Defined

Software for Manufacturing has evolved over the years due to industry demand. The first systems, called MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) involved the organization's bill of material (BOM), product files, inventory and basic scheduling. The main difference between these first generation MRP system and MRP II systems is additional scheduling functionality. MRP II included scheduling capabilities beyond the those of the first MRP systems.

    Browser-based ERP

Browser based ERP software systems are rising in popularity among many software vendors. Web based systems are extremely beneficial to IT during deployment across an enterprise. With web based software, the software is available on the employee desktop without being installed in the hard drive. This is called “Thin Client Technology”. Programmers can easily update systems without the need to install and update at each and every remote location. Updates can almost be instantaneous across an enterprise.

    Articles About Production Scheduling

Looking for something new with production scheduling? A growing number of manufactures are using production scheduling software to help save time and money. By purchasing a system manufactures are helping their business run more productively and efficiently. I recently came across an article about production scheduling/constraint based scheduling located on the site www.production-scheduling-systems.com. The article was rather informative and helped me to understand exactly what to look for with production scheduling software. There are links to additional articles that have information on vendors who you may be interested in taking a longer look at.

    What is ERP Software?

ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning which is a generally a computer software system which is company-wide. The software system is generally used to manage and coordinate all of the functions, resources and information of a business from one central point. This is a way for all of the departments within an organization to share data with one another through one centralized, shared database.
